Had an idea.
It would be nice to get paddlers on this forum together for a paddle, so we can put faces to names, make contacts and all that good stuff.
Suggest maybe early November on the Lune as it will support a few of us.
Your thoughts ?
No Chance!:D
Hahaha... Sure, that sounds like a great idea. Location will have to be selected carefully to cope with the massive numbers that will turn up.;)
Sounds good. Perhaps decide date then wait on weather for location?

I will be there :D
Forecast is not good for our arranged paddle!
Mostly cloudy Wednesday with a little rain at times, this clearing on Thursday but becoming colder and windier. Staying windy on Friday, mostly cloudy with perhaps a few light showers.
Will review the conditions on Friday.

If all else fails, it's an open day on the Leven - and Rob will be only too happy to collect your money!
Dave.
Hi Dave, that reminds me, is there a list somewhere of the Leven open days?
Sorry to go off topic!
Forecast for the weekend isn't that great. It's looking like there's not going to be enough water to paddle anywhere. Here's the met office outlook:
This Evening and Tonight:
It will be generally cloudy with showers merging into spells of mostly light rain or drizzle, though some heavier rain is possible for a time across Cumbria. It will be rather windy, but will become milder. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Saturday:
It will remain mostly cloudy with a little light rain or drizzle at times, especially over hills. It will be fairly mild, but rather windy. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Hopefully the heavier showers over Cumbria tonight may be enough.
Lets wait and see.
Will be scraping and bouncing down the Lune on Saturday in open boat hoping for more rain!
Drove by the leven today and its really low. Maybe a raincheck (pun intended!) is in order? If you guys are meeting up i'll probably pop out to the river to say hi but will do dog walking rather than boating.
Cheers
Due to a lack of rain we'll delay the paddle until we know that we have some water in the rivers.
There is some rain falling over Cumbria today and tonight but it's not forecast to be that much. The Leven is, as Ned said at rock bottom and any rain takes a couple of days to bring it up.
Sorry!
