Paddling in Slovenia

Hi all
A small gorup of us are thinking of having a weeks boating in Slovenia next May. Has anyone any advice especially about flights from the north west, but also experiances and advice in general.

Kaituna is thinking of heading over that way to paddle the Soca some time next year if he can get it sorted out. I'd love to go but it's hard to get the time and dosh! I've looked all over the web for information and found very little... just some vid's on Youtube - searched Soca ;)

Think i may have to go to Slovakia next year for a wedding.... anyone know if there's any good paddling there?

Hi Neds right I went out a few years ago.

I flew out from Leeds to Venice with my kayak, the others hired them out there ( I had a bad experience in Equador hiring and ended up with a RPM MAX !). But the others got upto date boats as theres a very good shop in the soca valley. We hired a car in Italy and met up with some mates who flew into Austria and drove across.

Its a lovely area and we were planning to camp but got caught out by some snow, so ended up in a great bunk house in Bovec with a great pizza restaurant below. The paddlings not the hardest about but still very worth a visit.

If you have and questions in pecticular let me know as Louis who has just got back from raft guiding there is squatting at mine
