The Uttermost Part of the Earth - 25th June 2008
Perhaps best known for cutting the rope in touching the void, but that was just one moment in Simon's hugely enjoyable and remarkably successful mountaineering career. In his unique laconic style he will tell us briefly of his partnership with Joe Simpson and of his less stressful climbs amongst the worlds' greatest and most remote mountain ranges. As an added treat, and in the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of the Eiger, he'll tell of his own climb on the notorious Nordward.
