Whilst on my way to work the other morning I stopped by Skelwith Force to have a look at the new bridge that has been put over the River Brathey 100 yds above the waterfall.
It's a piece of art created by Chris Brammall from Ulverston. I had a brief hand in the design just before I left my job at the structural engineer's. We helped Chris to make sure the bridge would be capable of supporting the required loads.
On the access front, it really will be useful for those summer nights playing in the looping pool as we can now access both banks of the river on foot without a long trek down stream and over the road bridge.
