Quick Introduction to the river Duddon

For those of you who dont know the river Duddon, it has some of the finest paddling in Cumbria. The river can basically be split into 3 sections, the Upper, Middle and Lower Duddon. The Upper section contains Troutal Gorge and Wallabarrow Gorge, both of which are serious undertakings of grade 5 water. The Middle section boasts Jill's Folly which is an awkward grade 4 rapid with a rock, as always in just the wrong place! Further downstream another grade 4 rapid known as Funnel Steps, leads into a short gorge section. The usual take-out for this section is at Ulpha Bridge. The Lower section is mostly grade 3 with one grade 4 rapid at Duddon Hall Falls.
The upper, middle and lower are 5km, 3.5km and 6km respectively and can be combined to give a good days paddle with loads of excitement.

Here's the video from the trip.
