View Full Version : Water in the Cough tomorrow?
Anyone know if there might be enough water in the Clough, Sedbergh for a paddle tomorrow morning?
If there is, is anyone else up for a blast?

Clough may be a bit low, dont think we have had as much water this side of the M6. Im off west to check stuff out.
Cheers for the info Chris,
We ended up paddling the upper Duddon.... at a lowish, but still fun level.
Have you managed to get out anywhere?

Hi, yes i got out, I first had a look at the upper caldew it had enough water in to get down but not enough to do it justice even for a solo run. Later met up with a couple of mates at the Greta they could only get out late this afternoon, it was about 4" below the white marker so we jumped on and surfed and played all the way down to Keswick. Called a Shap Chippy on the way home to finish off a top afternoon. I did think about the Duddon but time constrains wouldnt allow.
I just hope this winter is going to be as wet as the summer !!!
(edit ) just remembered there is a tree down about 2/3 of way down. Its OK and easy to get round but its at the bottom of a small rapid and the flow goes under it and could cause problems for a swimmer. Take Care
Is that tree on the Upper Caldew or the Greta mate?

Sorry, it on the Greta.
You can spot it from way off, and there is a big eddy on the left ( tree on right ) you can break out and just paddle past it. There is a surf wave on the rapid above just be aware if playing.
It not a major hazard but
