Default Work on the Leven

Looks like there's some work being done to the weir above Backbarrow on the river right. They've damned off a section and are building something I think. When the river does come up again it may be relevant...

It's a fish ladder. Looks from a distance very much like the brick shoot at the top of the river although on the extreme river right side... play spot??

Looks like its some sort of fish ladder. I think the "rungs" create eddies for the fish. I wouldn't run it though, it looks shallow and sharp, and already seems to be collecting wood.

Ran it today without problem. Only thing was a lack of stability due to the aerated water. Didn't scrap anything although when the river is lower that may be an issue.

Ollie... No new play feature.

the fisheries/eco guys will be crying out for this kind of work, and paddlers have money to spend on decent features to be built.

Would it really be so complicated to put two and two together?
